DIT is a community of like minded individuals who share the common goal of growing South Africa's startup ecosystem. It brings me joy to be able to share my learnings, and learn from others in the DIT community.

My journey with DiT has been transformative. It has never left a plea for help unanswered, offering solace and understanding during my toughest times. The path of entrepreneurship is fraught with difficulties, yet DiT provides a sliver of ease, making the arduous journey somewhat more manageable.

It has been a great experience, I have personally made deals and found clients who are still with our company today. DIT is a great place to meet like minded people and collaborate on ideas and projects

Great interactions with founders, investors, ecosystem service providers re: the growth of the tech & innovation ecosystem across Africa especially for under-represented founders. I think the future is really inspiring given how much value has been shared amongst the DIT members.

I was referred to by someone who had been a member of the group as they believed the group would benefit me, which it could. Being surrounded by people who have walked the road has not only been comforting, but inspiring to continue building within the tech space. From the topics that are regularly spoken of, to the access of ecosystem players, as a black entrepreneur this is where you would need to be.

I'd been cold emailing/messaging people in the start-up ecosystem via LinkedIn with little to no luck but I found that a lot of them were in the DIT community. By just mentioning DIT, I got more responses and an "in". DIT is a warm lead to a lot of. ecosystem players but more than that, it really is a community.

DiT is exactly what we needed at Black Founders. It has been a space where we can talk openly and honestly about our unique journeys as Founders. It has been a space to share ideas, collaborate and seek encouragement from other Founders on a similar path as you. The community is active so there is always someone ready to give advice or a new perspective about any challenge you may be facing. The events have been great platforms for learning and networking. I can only see DiT growing stronger as a community.

As a fund focused on underrepresented founders in tech, one of our biggest challenges was finding a sizeable and active community of our target founders. DiT not only helped us form part of this community, but allowed us to engage with the founders to see how we could do better as a team

Positive! All positive. It’s been very valuable to be amongst new and established tech founders, industry leaders and ecosystem members. It’s not only the sharing of opportunities, but the invaluable nuggets of wisdom, tips and tricks that are constantly shared in the group is what I appreciate very much. It’s also comforting to know the challenges or issues you face as a founder, you are not alone and so the community aspect of it is really for my mental psyche. plus everyone is helpful!
